I’ve never been able to be anyone but my most authentic self. As a teen, I referred to myself as a “non-conformist” - now I go for the much less pretentious “free spirit” or simply “weirdo.”
Maybe it’s the ADHD, maybe it’s my genes, maybe it’s Maybelline… but doing anything just because society/family/anyone expects it is absolutely excruciating for me.
So why do it then? Why do anything that you don’t want to do?
Why have a big, traditional wedding when that doesn’t feel like you at all?

The Lucy B. Photography Elopement Experience
Here’s how it works…
1.
Get on the books
The only things we need to get the contract rolling are the right package, a date, and a general location. We’ll decide these things on our consult call - I’ll make a recommendation based on a combo of your needs & vision and my expertise. Once you sign the contract and pay a 30% retainer, we are official!
2.
We start the planning process
Now that we’re booked, I am here to help every step of the way. I do way more than just show up on the day-of and take photos.
we’ll narrow down locations using my Southwest location list and any extra location scouting I need to do to find awesome new spots for you
once we have those locations, I’ll do research and communications to secure any necessary permits
I’ll search for and connect you with local vendors (like florists, hair and makeup artists, private chefs, etc.)
I’ll provide you with activity ideas based on your interests, and how to pull them off successfully and awesomely 🤙🏻
I’ll be available to you night and day (within reason… a girl’s gotta sleep) to answer any questions and assuage any concerns you might have
3.
We finalize our timeline
As your plans come together, I’ll make you a timeline and then we’ll work together to perfect it. It’ll include the activities you’ve decided on, the places you’d like to see, the best lighting we can utilize, and all that jazz. All while having plenty of time to relax and actually enjoy the day.
4.
I photograph you enjoying your dream elopement
We execute our flawless plan (assuming the weather doesn’t completely foil us). Thanks to the timeline we perfected together, you’ll have an incredible day with minimum stress and maximum fun. I’ll be there to document it and keep us on track, but I won’t get in the way of you having the most authentically you experience.
5.
You receive your gallery
You’ll receive a small highlight gallery within 48 hours after your wedding, so you can start reliving it right away and share it with your loved ones. Then you’ll receive your full gallery within 30 days, and at that point, you are free to download high-res files, make prints, order albums… whatever your heart desires! ❤

Here is an idea of things you could see when you look back at your wedding photos:
Getting ready together at your rental. This could be just the two of you having a quiet, slow morning… or if you have loved ones attending your day, they could be involved to add some of that loveable chaos into the mix. Maybe you share a private first look once you’re all done up.
Drive/hike out to your ceremony spot. The moment you’ve been waiting for. Say your vows, give your rings, share that first kiss as a married couple. Maybe shed a few tears, if that’s you. :’) If you have loved ones there, share some hugs and a joyful toast afterwards.
A beautiful sunrise in one of the best sunrise spots in the area… AND a sunset. Maybe we split our coverage up across the day and got to have a nap break in between, imagine that?!
All throughout, doing activities that make the two of you come alive together. Maybe that’s rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding, getting matching tattoos, having a first dance on a cliff edge, or whatever you can think of.
After the sunset, going deeper into the wilderness and away from civilization to view some incredible stars.
Curling up at the end of the day by a firepit or in a hot tub and thinking back on what a perfect day you just had.
It definitely does NOT have to feel like an all-day photoshoot where you’re being bossed around and asked to move your chin one inch to the left. It’s a day where you two are doing exactly what you want, sharing activities that you love to do together, and doing it all in a place that feels special to you.
I’m just there to make sure you remember it forever.

The 2-Day Experience

What’s included:
12 hours of coverage, split between 2 days
These hours can be split in whatever way would best serve you and your timeline. This allows for plenty of time for some activities that may take longer, and exploring more varied landscapes.
You will receive your photos within 30 days in a beautiful online gallery, where you and your loved ones can download the high-res images and order prints and albums!

8 hours of coverage
These hours can be split between two different parts of the day. This amount offers plenty of time to get through your timeline with no stress - you could experience multiple landscapes and time-consuming activities in the same day.
You will receive your photos within 30 days in a beautiful online gallery, where you and your loved ones can download the high-res images and order prints and albums!

This is the option for you if you still want a beautiful wedding in the outdoors, but you are content with staying in one general area and not planning any very time-consuming activities. You can still get the Lucy B. Photography elopement experience, just on a slightly smaller scale.
You will receive your photos within 30 days in a beautiful online gallery, where you and your loved ones can download the high-res images and order prints and albums!

I know all of the above is a ton of information. If you’re anything like me, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed.
You probably haven’t eloped before - but I have planned, witnessed, and documented tons of elopements.
I will gladly help you pick the right package for you based on your dreams and needs!

“A much-needed calming presence…”
“As old college buddies, my wife and I were already aware that Lucy does phenomenal work as a photographer and has years of excellent shoots under her belt. That made her a natural choice for our long-anticipated wedding, an event that served to commemorate a decade-long relationship as much as it was celebrating the start of our marriage. Though we had fairly simple needs for photos, Lucy was very communicative about our options and took careful note of our desires. Her efforts to understand what we wanted out of our photos, and our wedding in general, were reflected in the resulting pictures— she successfully captured the spirit of the day without much input while it all happened.
When the day came, things were complicated by a medical emergency that prevented the bride’s father from attending. Our naturally-occurring nerves were kicked into high gear as a result, but Lucy was a consummate professional and a much-needed calming presence. She was willing to follow us between three locations, photographing the bridal preparations before coming to the ceremony venue and finally, our reception at an AirBnb. She efficiently directed everyone to get the group photos we wanted at the venue, and encouraged us to enjoy ourselves. During the ceremony, she got some incredible images while not disrupting guests in the least. All throughout the day, Lucy demonstrated an uncanny ability to blend in perfectly while moving around quickly to get the perfect shot.
Once everything was edited and she shared the results with us, we couldn’t be happier. Lucy provided an abundance of photos at both print and web resolution, broken up into easily navigable sections to make browsing through the files easy. Most especially, we were grateful for her open policies about printing and sharing rights, which allowed us to get the prints and albums we wanted from the services we preferred, and put anything we liked online. The only conditions— crediting her where appropriate and not further editing the images— were easy to follow, as everything looked great!
Though things didn’t quite go how we had originally envisioned for a variety of reasons, Lucy rolled with the punches, lending us her expertise to help give us beautiful memories of a wonderful day. We wouldn’t change a thing!”
