Before I spent this evening in Joshua Tree running around with Danny and Hilary for their couples session, I hadn’t been to a national park since Yellowstone and the Badlands when I was SIX YEARS OLD. Literally almost 20 years ago. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. 😍 Joshua Tree not only blew me away in general, but it showed me how beautiful the desert can be. I’d been pretty firmly in the belief that the desert was mostly piles of dirt (and let’s be real, some big chunks of it ARE just piles of dirt). I had no idea what amazing, beautiful things can grow in the desert. Not just the Joshua trees themselves (which are so unique and gorgeous and funny-looking), but all the different types of cacti, the desert flowers, and so on. And those rock formations! As a person who wants to climb anything with the remotest possibility of a foot or handhold, I was in heaven.
Well, anyway. Enough about my Midwestern sense of wonder. Let’s talk about Hilary and Danny a little bit, eh? These cuties drove all the way out from LA to meet me in Joshua Tree. I knew Hilary already from a workshop we attended together where we bonded over being shy weirdos. :P It was nice to meet her boyfriend Danny for this shoot! They are some attractive, adorable, very silly human beings and I am HERE FOR IT. They were totally open about running around among the cacti and climbing the rocks to get to new vantage points. And Joshua Tree sure does deliver on the views.
