If one shoot could sum up my ideal color palette, it’s this one. JUST LOOK AT THOSE BLUES! Can’t deal.
I knew Sam and Heidi vaguely from college, and despite not knowing them too well, while I was staying in LA, they let me come visit for the day down in San Diego! Apart from showing me around their city (San Diego is so cute and retro!), they brought me to Torrey Pines State Beach for a shoot! Not only did they absolutely kill it, but I got to climb some rocks and stick my feet in the ocean, which are two activities I can never get enough of. :D
Like I said, Sam and Heidi completely NAILED this shoot, as you can see. Like pretty much every client, they were afraid of being “awkward.” 🙄 But, also like every client, they relaxed and had fun with my goofy prompts. I promise, I will not let you look awkward in front of my camera! They were also totally up for everything, like getting their clothes wet splashing around the shoreline, and even laying down in the sand (not sure even I would do that if someone asked). Thanks for bearing with all my silly ideas, you two! :D
These two met at our school, Lawrence University in Wisconsin. Heidi was a year below me and Sam a year below her. They got together her senior year, did long distance with Heidi in Chicago while Sam finished school, and now they live together in San Diego and are going strong! I have a soft spot for Lawrence couples. They say 11% of them end up married… ;))))
