Tucson Intimate Wedding at Sanctuary Cove | Arizona Intimate Wedding Photographer

Carolina & Rusty

This wedding is so special to me for so many reasons. The first being that it was my first Arizona wedding of my own! These two put their faith in me when I was new in town and let me be a part of their amazing wedding. It was also special to me because Carolina and Rusty are just the kindest, most gracious human beings and they and their entire family made me feel so appreciated and cared for throughout the day! I can’t express how good that feels as a vendor, and especially being new to Tucson. I felt very welcomed. :)

They had a gorgeous intimate ceremony at Sanctuary Cove, which is a beautiful spot near Tucson for all-creeds worship as well as just enjoying nature, located at the base of Safford Peak. Afterward, we headed 20 minutes away to their reception venue, Glover Ranch, where a whoooole bunch more family and friends were waiting!

But first - I met up with the ladies who were getting ready at an Airbnb in Tucson (just a few minutes from my apartment, funnily enough)!

Carolina’s mother teared up quite a bit when helping her with her dress, and then the rest of us (see Caro’s sister above 😭) teared up when her mother gave her a marriage blessing.

Carolina and Rusty opted for a first look before their ceremony (which I always STAN!!!). They are more private, shy people so they wanted to have this private moment before revealing themselves to their family. They also wrote each other personal vows and shared them with each other silently. Not even I got to hear them, they were for their eyes only, which I think is awesome. ❤

And now for their beautiful ceremony, which was officiated happily by Rusty’s uncle. It was very short and sweet and included a glass ceremony to symbolize the blending of their families!

After the ceremony and group photos, nearly everyone headed out to the venue, but me and the couple stayed behind for some newlywed portraits! Such a lovely backdrop for it.

Funny turn of events… I didn’t notice until we were about to leave, but I had locked my keys in the car. TURNS OUT, Rusty used to be a locksmith and had a lockout kit back at his house, which wasn’t far. So while his brother went to get that, me, the couple (who were starving), and Rusty’s sister Sam (also the chauffeur for the day), went to In-N-Out for a snack and a few photos. Rusty and Carolina met on Bumble and had their first date at an In-N-Out and instantly connected. So it all worked out in the end, and we all love the photos at the restaurant! :D

After eating, we went back to my car, unlocked it, and then all headed to the reception venue. Seriously though, what a bit of serendipity that the groom happened to be a locksmith. 😂

At Glover Ranch, the bridal party did a grand entrance and then Rusty and Carolina went right into their first dance.

After an awesome Texas Roadhouse buffet dinner, the maid of honor (Caro’s sister) and best man (Rusty’s brother) gave adorable, tearful speeches congratulating the couple. And then it was time for the always-heartwarming parent dances. Carolina shared hers with both her father and her mother.

After that, it was party time!! Open dance floor, photo booth, cornhole outside, games at the tables, chatting with relatives, desert eating, all that good stuff!

My coverage ended with them signing their marriage papers and thus officially becoming husband and wife in the eyes of the law! Whoohoo! I stayed to eat a piece of cake and then peaced out, as it had been a very long day (as weddings always are). I’m sure they danced the night away long after I left!

Congratulations, Carolina and Rusty!! Wishing you the happiest life together and hope to see you around town! :)
