Marissa and Stephen! Two adorable humans from the Bay Area who came down to the Grand Canyon for a quick winter vacation. I’m afraid they thought it might be warmer at the Grand Canyon, but thankfully I was able to warn them before their trip that it would NOT be very warm at all. Doesn’t matter, though!! We still had a lot of fun frolicking around the South Rim and enjoyed a pretty stunning sunset.

(They actually stayed at the same hotel as Tony & Laura - apparently the Ritz is well worth staying at!!) Davis planned to propose on January 2 and he wanted to do so in a beautiful, desert-y, as-secluded-as-possible spot. I was, of course, totally on board. :D

They quoted Ron Swanson and Michael Scott to each other in their (beautiful, incredible, tear-jerking) personal vows.

(Being from Chicago, I cannot blame them for wanting to escape that weather for our gorgeous Arizona winters!) Tony reached out to me about having his proposal to Laura photographed and I was obviously so down!

Penny and Steve knew each other in school, but lost touch over the years and both got married and had their own families. A few years ago, Penny’s husband passed away and she didn’t think she’d find love again. But the universe had other plans.

From weather extremes to unfriendly wildlife to the pokey prickly plants. When planning your Arizona elopement, you have to take these things into account and plan accordingly!
